Five secures CSI deal for new channel

Five's owner RTL has pulled off a pan-European deal to secure a stranglehold on television rights for its biggest hit, the CSI franchise.

The deal with the show's international distributor, Alliance Atlantis, means Five will be able to show CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, CSI:Miami and CSI:NY among the core output on its new US content channel, Five US.
Five has bought back some secondary rights which had previously been held by Flextech channel Living. Although Living will continue to show CSI content, Five can now show all the CSI spin offs on the channel.
It has also secured exclusive video on demand rights.
