Smoke Stak
One for the meat lovers, Smoke Stak isn't technically a food truck but a 4.5 tonne custom-made 'train'. Here the team use its engine-shaped smoker to create deceptively simple dishes like brisket and spicy spare ribs alongside pulled pork buns. Its giant 'Flintstone' beef rib – larger than a human arm – should satisfy any hungry carnivores who are happy to share.
Anna-Mae's
You'll find more American fare at Anna-Mae's mac and cheese stand, where the humble dish gets jazzed up with various toppings. The menu includes the original Annie Mac, macaroni in a three-cheese sauce, the Spicy Juan, which includes jalapeños and sour cream, and the bacon and basil oil Don Macaroni. The stand has even got its own recipe book, which was released last August.
Van Dough
Run by a husband and wife duo since 2012, Van Dough is a regular fixture on south east London's foodie circuit. But don't let its silly name fool you, as this converted 1970s Citroën H van serves seriously good pizza made inside its own wood-fired oven. The four choices on its menu, sourced from local producers, include a classic sourdough margherita alongside seasonal specials.
Sub Cult
Inspiring a cult-like following across the captial, Sub Cult serves gourmet sandwiches at street food markets including Berwick Street and Broadgate Circle. From the pulled pork 'Dub-Sub' to the scallop and calamari 'Sub-Marine', its transatlantic sarnies fuse English ingredients with America's BBQ heritage. Prices start at £5 per sandwich. And yes, they are served from yet another vintage Citroën.
BloomBerry on the Road
Fresh from Devon's countryside, BloomBerry on the Road serves up juices and smoothies from its festival drinks bar – which also features bike-powered blenders. Combining flowers and fruit, its menu includes apple, cranberry and rose juice and a pomegranate and hibiscus flavour. All products are freshly made, so hey are free from preservatives.
