Five makes HBO debut

Five has acquired the exclusive UK television rights to HBO's new American drama series Big Love.

The 12 episode drama, which stars Chloe Sevigny, is Five's first show from the famous producer behind hits such as The Sopranos and Six Feet Under. It starts in March on HBO and airs in late Spring on Five.
Dan Chambers, Five's director of programming, said: "I am delighted that Five has acquired this drama.  HBO has an enviable reputation for making hit dramas that are both unorthodox and engaging."
HBO is reported to be investigating launching a channel of its own in the UK within the next couple of years, although for the time being is still a major breeding ground for UK shows with American drama currently in vogue with all the major braodcasters.
In Big Love, Bill Paxton ('Twister', 'A Simple Plan'), plays Bill Henrickson, at first sight leading a typical suburban life in Salt Lake City.
But Bill is also a polygamist – with three wives and three homes to maintain. Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin co star.
