Five considers channel changes

Five is examining plans to refresh its on-air creative branding, with new idents being considered for Five, Five Life and Five US.

The broadcaster is understood to be in the midst of a review about the future positioning of its three TV channels. Five Life is expected to be the most affected, with a name change for the channel currently under consideration.

Sources close to the broadcaster said Five Life could be repositioned as a general entertainment channel.

Five Life launched in October 2006 featuring pre-school strand Milkshake! as well as drama, films, soaps and lifestyle programming skewed towards a female audience.

Five declined to comment.
