Five in the clear over The Farm's pig pleasuring scene

LONDON - Five has been cleared of any breach of the broadcasting code after showing 'sleazy seniorita' Rebecca Loos masturbating a boar in the celebrity reality TV show 'The Farm'.

Loos, who became famous after allegations she had an affair with David Beckham, was shown undertaking the task to collect semen from the boar.

While the programme explained that it was a common practice on farms in the UK, many viewers were upset by the scene and by another where Loos told the other contestants what she had been doing.

Broadcast regulator Ofcom received 37 complaints about the scene, with the majority suggesting it was akin to bestiality. Others were concerned it was degrading.

Five was cleared of any breach after Ofcom heard that the task was properly supervised and carried out for a genuine purpose.

Ofcom also cleared the broadcaster over complaints the language was offensive, saying that it believed the language used was justifiable in the context of the programme.

Separately, Channel 4 has also been cleared over complaints relating to the treatment of animals, after the factual series 'The Worst Jobs In History' showed an eel being killed.

Sixteen viewers complained about the scene, but Channel 4 defended it, saying that it had tried to source a dead eel but because they deteriorate quickly they were usually supplied live.

Ofcom ruled that the scene was not gratuitous, saying it recognised that Channel 4 had tried to ensure it was done in as humane a way as possible.
