Five appoints Keenan as deputy controller of acquisitions

LONDON - Five has appointed Katie Keenan as its new deputy controller of acquisitions, working alongside recently appointed controller of acquisitions Vanessa Brookman.

Keenan, who is currently acquisitions executive at UKTV, will join Five from August 14. She has specialised in acquisitions for more than nine years and leaves UKTV after two years at the network.

Prior to working at UKTV, Keenan worked in the programme acquisitions department at Channel 4 and starting her career in acquisitions for the BBC.

Last month, Five announced the launch of two new digital channels Five US and Five Life, which will launch this autumn.

Recent US acquisitions for Five include legal drama series 'Shark', starring James Woods, and conspiracy drama 'Vanished'.
