Consignia has shortlisted five agencies for the second stage of its statutory media roster review. MediaCom, Zenith, OMD UK, Mindshare and incumbent Carat have been invited to tender for the Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide contract review. Pitches are likely to take place in January, with contracts to commence in April 2002. Paul Troy, Royal Mail's brand and communications director, said: "In the current media market this review is opportune as it will ensure that we continue to achieve the best media value." The current media planning and buying and data planning contracts are held by Carat and come to an end on March 31 2002. The contract value is estimated to be just under £40m for the first year.
