Combining striking images of a man swimming across a stormy ocean, with another kissing a giant bear, the video is picturesque with a high production value. 7/10
Featuring the world’s third-strongest man, who also happens to play ‘The Mountain’ in Game Of Thrones, vodka brand Finlandia has taken a daring approach to its latest campaign.
The video includes a mixture of individuals from around the world with a combined aged of 1,000, all of which are pushing their limits to lead a life ‘less ordinary’.
Entitled ‘wisdom’, this spot associates Finlandia with diversity, exploration and an unquenching thirst for life. While the campaign is undeniably high in energy, it’s low on originality, featuring the same musical score as Adidas’ recent ‘Here's to the takers' campaign.
With the topic of the ad not being particularly unique, this may explain why the campaign has failed to pick up significant traction on social media.
While it’s sure to induce serious FOMO as the viewer wonders why they’re not a reindeer racer or identical twin, this feels like just another viral aiming to get audiences pumped.
Be nobody’s bitch
The campaign does include inspiring quotes from refreshing sources, however. Audiences are told to ‘Be nobody’s bitch’ but ‘their own’ from Cassandro, a drag wrestler and to get their ideas out of their heads by Theo, a kinetic sculptor.
Combining striking images of a man swimming across a stormy ocean, with another kissing a giant bear, the video is picturesque with a high production value.
Though it may not be ground-breaking, this two and a half minute viral is well worth a watch and sure to continue clocking up views over the coming weeks.
