Ex Events, as subsidiary of listed firm Rivington Street Holdings, is an event management company set up towards the end of last year, and will rebrand The Finishing Touch under its own banner in the next six months.

The Finishing Touch is well known for its Christmas and summer party offerings and Ex-Events will continue to pursue that area of business with its now 11-strong team.

Ex Events bought The Finishing Touch from First Artist Corporation for a fee of £101,000. The party firm had been struggling, making a pre-tax loss of £200,000 on sales of £2.4m in the year to 30 November 2010.

Mel Atkins, the former managing director of The Finishing Touch has joined Ex Events as CEO and board member in the move.

Dan Green, who founded Ex Events alongside Jo Morgan, David Taylor and Kimberley Dale said the firm would push overseas events and expand the business.
