She will report to Sam Fitz-Gibbon, managing director of Yours, More, Top Santé and Bauer's parenting portfolio. As well as her magazine responsibilities, Atwal will work with digital lifestyle director Andrew Robb to develop the parenting portal askamum.co.uk.
At the same time, Jacquie Duckworth has been appointed head of advertising of Yours, Yours.co.uk, More, Top Santé and the parenting portfolio. She moves from the role of head of market men's lifestyle at Bauer Advertising and will report to Suzanne Miron, director of women's media at Bauer Advertising.
Duckworth spent 10 years at IPC in the specialist and weeklies markets and worked on the launch of Now, before joining Future as sales director at its London office. She joined Emap four years ago. The appointments follow a restructure at Bauer after its acquisition of Emap's consumer magazine division in December last year.
Among the changes, Marcus Rich is leaving his job of managing director of Bauer Advertising and Bauer London Lifestyle Magazines later this month.
Rich joined Emap more than 25 years ago and has held a variety of senior roles at the media company.
Bauer said that Rich's departure was a result of the company looking to simplify the structure and that he is leaving by mutual agreement.
Rich will not be replaced, and the Bauer Advertising and London Lifestyle businesses now report directly to Bauer Consumer Media chief executive Paul Keenan.
Bauer said there was no news yet on the future of Rebecca Lisica, who is Duckworth's counterpart at the women's magazine division. She is believed to be in consultation about taking a new role.
