Faulds Advertising has hired a new chairman, the former Scottish
Television finance director, Alan Montgomery, to spearhead the
Scotland-based agency's push toward other parts of the UK.
The appointment follows the agency's management buy-out in December
2001, when it announced its expansion plans and earmarked London and
Manchester for potential new offices. The founder, Jim Faulds, also left
the agency at the time.
Montgomery was picked for his financial expertise as well as his
experience in the media industry, according to Faulds' managing
director, Dennis Chester. Before working at Scottish Television he was a
director at Beat 106FM, sold to Capital Radio in October 2000.
"We are delighted to have Alan on board. He brings real experience in
finance and deal-making and is therefore ideal in our ambition to expand
our business. He also brings boundless energy and a real passion for
advertising and media," Chester said.
Faulds employs 140 staff in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Its move to expand south comes more than a year after its main Scottish
rival, The Leith Agency, set up a London office, which has struggled in
that market.
