'The IT Crowd' is a new comedy series focusing on the lives of two geeks working in the IT department. It is written and directed by Graham Linehan, co-writer of 'Father Ted' and series produced by Ash Atalla, the award-winning producer of the 'The Office'. There is no date on when this show will be broadcast as yet.
The working titled 'Zeppetron Sketch Show' takes a humorous look at the lives and loves of thirty-something urbanites as they argue and flirt with each other.
The 'Zeppetron Sketch Show' will feature the 'Friday Night Project' host Rob Rouse, 'Fat Slags' actor Tom Goodman Hill and 'Green Wing' actress Rosie Cavaliero. The series is scheduled for a Friday night peaktime slot.
Also from Zeppetron is 'Law of the Playground' based on Jonathan Blyth's book of the same name. The series features comedians reminiscing about the warped games, chants and nicknames that were a regular part of school break times.
Next up, is 'Balls of Steel', a studio-based entertainment show from the makers of 'Peep Show' and 'Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind', which challenges comedians and performers to go to extreme lengths to prove they have balls of steel.
The series is hosted by Mark Dolan, star of the Channel 4 comedy strand 'The Richard Taylor Interviews'.
Finally, 'Dirty Tricks', the first studio-based magic show for 10 years, is tipped to fill the broadcaster's Friday night entertainment slot. Magicians Alistair Cook, Pete Firman and double act Barry and Stuart will attempt to shock celebrities and the public with their tricks.
Caroline Leddy, head of comedy, said: "A fabulous crop -- dead good, dead funny and dead exciting."
