Fast Track appointed to host UK schools' competition

LONDON - Fast Track has been hired by the Youth Sport Trust to run the UK School Games over the next five years.

The sports marketing and events agency won the contract following its success in managing the inaugural competition in September.

More than 1,700 athletes, team staff, officials and volunteers attended the games in Glasgow to compete in athletics, fencing, gymnastics, table tennis and swimming, plus disability events in athletics and swimming.

Fast Track will manage sponsorship of the charity's partnership with secondary schools to develop the event, which aims to showcase the nation's most talented youngsters, as well as increase the number of young people taking part in competitive sport at local level.

Jon Ridgeon, managing director of Fast Track, said: "This is fantastic news for the whole agency. We feel it reflects the success of the inaugural UK School Games earlier this year and our experience in delivering first class multi-sport events."

"We are looking forward to working with the Youth Sport Trust to deliver an even more impressive event over the coming years and are delighted at the prospect of continuing to showcase the brightest young talent in the UK."

The deal caps off a good year for Fast Track, which was ranked as Marketing magazine's number one sponsorship agency for the second year running.

Next year's games will be held in Coventry.
