Fans rank Bruce Lee fights in online promotion

LONDON - The Bruce Lee DVD boxset will be promoted with a second burst of online activity, asking fans of the late martial arts star to rank eight of his movie fights.

The promotion has been created by , the digital agency appointed by Medusa to work on its Hong Kong Legends series.

The competition is part of the in support of the launch of an anniversary boxset of Bruce Lee films to mark his death 30 years ago. In it, fans can preview some of Lee's most famous fights, including his meeting with the 7' tall basketballer Kareem Abdul Jabbar in 'The Game of Death', which Lee died before completing.

People will be invited to enter via an email sent to the Hong Kong Legends mailing list, as well as through forums, message boards and newsgroups.

The 20 entrants whose choices fit most closely with the Hong Kong Legends panel's judgement will win a Bruce Lee goody bag, containing a limited edition boxset, the two-disc platinum edition of 'Way of the Dragon', the documentary 'The Legend' and a specially commissioned replica of the top worn by Lee in 'Game of Death'.

Brian White, label manager and DVD producer for Hong Kong Legends, said: "This was an important promotion for Hong Kong Legends because Bruce Lee is one of the greatest icons of this era. We have proved that this genre is very well received online by it audiences, and are looking to pursue similar digital channels to connect with this vibrant audience which are receptive to these media."

Bruce Lee died 30 years ago in Hong Kong a month short of his 33rd birthday. He appeared in dozens of martial arts films, including 'Enter the Dragon' and 'Fists of Fury'.
