Block was formerly general manager of Fallon's Minneapolis office, the city where the agency was founded. He reports to Pat Fallon, chairman of Fallon Worldwide, and will oversee all Fallon offices around the world, including London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sao Paolo and New York.
There have also been several senior moves in Fallon's North American operations. David Lubars has been promoted to president and executive creative director for North America from his role as co-president of the Minneapolis office. Rob White now takes over as sole president of the office there.
The shake-up has been seen by some as a succession plan for Fallon, founded in 1981 with five people.
Pat Fallon said: "With the addition of several offices around the world and new-business units over the past few years, our company has become more complex, and it was time to formalise the roles that David, Eric and others had already taken on.
"We now have the right people in the right places to serve our clients, foster our culture, create brilliant work, and prepare us for continued growth."
Fallon's clients include Lee Jeans, Time magazine and United Airlines.
