Eye Corp wins Manchester Airport Group deal

Australian airport advertising contractor Eye Corp has gained its first foothold in the UK by winning the 拢5.2m contract to sell across the Manchester Airport Group鈥檚 properties.

The UK鈥檚 second largest airport operator, MAG鈥檚 assets consist of Manchester, Nottingham East Midlands, Humberside and Bournemouth airports.
Eye Corp, which holds contracts for all major Australian cities, as well as Singapore and Auckland, New Zealand airports, beat JCDecaux and Clear Channel for the Manchester business, which runs for 10 years from June.
The company has been trying to gain a foothold in Europe since last year, when it bid unsuccessfully for the BAA contract. Incumbent JCDecaux won the pitch.
Manchester is the UK鈥檚 largest regional airport, with 375 sites. Nottingham East Midlands and Humberside airports, have 70 and 30 sites respectively. The annual rate card value across the three airports is currently 拢5.2m, although this is expected to grow during the term of the 10-year contract.
Among the new properties Eye will introduce are its Eyelite digital plasma screens, which it has already used in shopping malls and airports in Australia and New Zealand.
