LONDON (Brand Republic) 鈥 Oil giant ExxonMobil has consolidated its estimated $100m global media-buying account for its fuels marketing division to Zenith Media following a five-way pitch.

Zenith beat Omnicom Group鈥檚 Optimum Media Direction, the Interpublic Group of Companies鈥 Universal McCann and B|Com3鈥檚 Starcom MediaVest to win the account. All three agencies shared the account, but ExxonMobil wanted to consolidate into one agency. Carat, owned by Aegis Group, was the only other non-incumbent media agency pitching for the ExxonMobil business.

Zenith chief executive Richard Hamilton said, 鈥淲e are thrilled about this assignment and are committed to helping ExxonMobil maximise return on media investments around the world.鈥

Zenith Media is owned by advertising and media group Cordiant Communications and French group Publicis.
