The Nottingham-based credit referencing and DM services group is to appoint headhunters to find a replacement for current chairman John Peace, who is to become chairman of Standard Chartered.
The search will be overseen by Sir Alan Rudge, a senior director at Experian.
In April, Experian announced it was set for higher annual profits this year as it reported a four per cent rise in second-half revenues as the financial sector, its single biggest market, stabilised.
Key Experian executives include Victor Nichols, CEO for the UK & EMEA and Charlotte Hogg, a former executive of Discover Financial Services who ran the company's UK credit card business, Goldfish, appointed last year as MD.
Newspapers quoted Experian's market value as £5bn.
