Ex-ThinkNatural founder Dukes takes key post at Trinity Mirror

Carol Dukes, founder and former chief executive of Think-Natural, has joined newspaper group Trinity Mirror as director of business development to help it explore its digital ventures, Revolution can reveal.

Dukes will also work on offline initiatives, but has joined the company as it looks at its business across a host of media.

She said: "Obviously digital is a part of the mix and Trinity Mirror is going to be operating on a number of platforms. All media companies, whatever their starting point, are seeing themselves as real 'media' companies and see the opportunities to communicate with their audience in different ways."

Dukes added: "The majority of what the group does is involved with national and regional newspapers, but digital will be investigated. This is a broad role and it may well include digital work. Predominantly the things I will be looking at here will not be based on the newspaper, as they already have people in place doing that."

Dukes, who joined homeless charity Crisis FairShare as an interim director in June, will remain a trustee of the organisation. "While it was a change of scene, I always intended to come back into corporate life," she said.

Dukes was made redundant from natural healthcare e-tailer ThinkNatural in November 2001 after it merged with gardening site Greenfingers. The merged company was later bought by Calico Publishing.
