Ex-ITV chief Salmon resurfaces at R&SA

Former ITV marketing and commercial strategy director Clare Salmon has re-emerged as group strategy, marketing and customer director at Royal & SunAlliance.

Salmon, who joins the company's executive board, will lead the global development and implementation of strategy, sales and marketing across the UK, international, and emerging markets. She will report to group chief executive Andy Haste.

Salmon takes up the role on 11 June. UK marketing director Gordon Henderson and More Th>n managing director Mike Holliday-Williams will not be affected by the appointment.

Salmon left ITV at the beginning of the year. Her departure coincided with the arrival of executive chairman Michael Grade. Previously, she was managing director of AA's financial services business, with responsibility for the UK's biggest consumer insurance brokerage.

Salmon joined the AA as sales and marketing director in 2001 and is credited with its 'Just AAsk' rebranding. She has also held senior roles at Prudential.

Royal & SunAlliance is the UK's second-biggest commercial insurer, with a market share of more than 10%. Royal & SunAlliance has undergone a significant restructure over the past two years as it has repositioned to focus on general insurance.

The group provides insurance products in more than 130 countries.
