Ex-Evo publisher targets London visitors with Guest

LONDON - Allan Pattison, former publisher of Dennis Publishing's car magazine Evo, is to launch a fortnightly upmarket London listings magazine for international guests staying in five-star hotels.

Guest will be an A5 magazine offering listings covering attractions, bars, restaurants, theatre, cinema, concerts, sporting occasions, family activities and special events, accompanied by a map of the city.

Other editorial will include a celebrity column, My London, and reviews of restaurants and bars by business professionals. Special editions are likely to be produced for events such as London Fashion Week or the London Marathon.

Pattison said: "Affluent travellers want to be kept up to date with what's happening in London and we want to give them the opportunity to see London like a native and spread word of mouth about what they don't see in the guidebook."

DAD Media, an independent company set up by Pattison and former Evo art editor Damian Smith to launch Guest, is showing a dummy issue to London hotel chains to encourage them to stock the magazine, which it plans to distribute free to all guests' bedrooms.

Once established in the capital, DAD Media plans to adapt the magazine for other cities.
