Dean Fisher is alleged to have charged false invoices to TCS Media, which counts Fulham FC, Siemens and Laura Ashley among its clients, over a 15-month period and pocketed the profits.
Prosecuting Victoria Ojo told Westminster Magistrates Court: "This defendant was employed by TCS Media.
"The matter of the fraud is that he produced false invoices to the company and kept the profits for himself.
"The profits amounted to some £500,000."
Fisher, who wore a grey suit and spoke only to confirm his name, had been granted bail at an earlier hearing on the condition he did not contact any employee at TCS Media.
Defending David Forsyth said: "I think the situation is that there's a considerable amount of acrimony between the company and the defendant.
"This is an ongoing investigation that has been going on since November last year and there has been no complaints about his behaviour."
Chief Magistrate Timothy Workman lifted the condition on Fisher's bail.
He said: "Mr Fisher, I am committing your case to Southwark Crown Court and I am granting you unconditional bail."
Fisher, 36, (dob 11/2/74) of Ramsey Place, Caterham, Surrey, is accused of fraud committed between May 2008 and 31 August 2009.
A plea and case management hearing at Southwark Crown Court was set for 4 June.
TCS Media had billings of £20.77 million in 2009, according to the latest ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 School Reports.
