Leagas Delaney has chosen the former Bros singer, Luke Goss, to

front its pounds 2.5 million campaign for the launch of the Hyundai

Amica.

Goss sets a light-hearted tone for the commercial, which aims to

reinforce the sporty, fun, value-for-money nature of the Amica.

The ad, called ’tough life’, opens with Goss driving his Amica. He is

saying how people don’t realise how tough being a rock star was, citing

’all those girls’ and ’late-night parties’ as being particularly

exhausting.

He turns into a long driveway leading to a massive mansion as he says:

’These days I can just enjoy myself.’ He then turns off into a more

modest driveway and continues: ’But I still have the odd fan to deal

with,’ as his screaming mother launches herself at him.

The ad, which uses the Bros song, When will I be famous?, ends with the

line: ’You don’t have to be rich and famous to have it all.’

The ad was written by Ian Ducker and art directed by Will Farquhar. It

was directed in South Africa by Graham Rose through Rose Hackney Barber

Productions.

The commercial breaks this week with media buying by New PHD and

planning through Leagas Delaney. It will run on cable, terrestrial and

satellite TV channels throughout March, and is backed by a national

press campaign and by complementary dealer advertising.
