Events industry trade association Eventia has announced plans for an initiative to lower carbon emissions.
Following a seminar on greener events, Eventia chairman Nigel Cooper and Emma Bainbridge, head of event management at agency BI, revealed plans to get agencies to ask clients to accept a charge equivalent to 1% of each programme鈥檚 cost, which would be donated to fund sustainable energy and reforestation projects.
Cooper said: 鈥淚 believe the events industry collectively could generate as much as 拢4m if we can harness the support of our clients.鈥
