The organisation made the changes following feedback from agencies and suppliers at its summer conference at the end of June.

The second edition has been compiled by the Eventia Regulation Committee and Brian McDonnell, partner in Olswang solicitors.

"The Bribery Act impacts the hospitality and events industry in various ways. As the Government's guidance on the operation of the Act does not provide the certainty that many were looking for, careful assessments will need to be made in particular cases. This Briefing Note can help in making these judgments," said McDonnell.

Eventia Regulation Committee chairman Brian Kirsch added: "Olswang’s guidance is a detailed and thoughtful appraisal of the issues affecting companies in the events and hospitality sector. The Eventia Regulation Committee will continue to represent the industry in pressing for a reasonable approach to implementation of the new Act."
