The association believes that the Prime Minister, who himself uses live events to support his campaigns and reach out to the public, should bear in mind the ‘knock on effect’ cuts will have on the sector.

"As the Prime Minister recognises, live events have a vital role to play in the communications mix and this must continue to be embraced by his government," said Eventia chairman Mark Saxby.

"If the government is to make what are going to be very painful cuts in the weeks, months and years ahead there will never be a more important time for it to communicate with departmental staff and the public at large.
