Eventia Awards

More than 850 guests attended the Eventia International Awards when it arrived at London's Grosvenor House hotel on 1 February.

Prizes were awarded in 19 categories. New ones included agency of the Year, won by Banks Sadler, and the Outstanding Achievement Award, which was accepted by Nigel Cooper, divisional managing director of Motivcom's travel and event division.

Agency Adding Value walked away with two gongs on the night - Best Promotional Communication and Best Incentive Travel Short Haul - as well as picking up the prestigious Platinum Award for its Vodafone Courchevel 1850 - The Phenomenon event.

The awards take place in association with Event's sister title Conference & Incentive Travel, and were organised by Haymarket Events. Presenter for the evening was Charley Boorman, co-star of the BBC's Long Way Down.

A prize draw raised more than 拢6,500 for the Mziki village in KwaZulu-Natal, with the help of charity Habitat for Humanity. The top prize was sponsored by South Africa Tourism and included a trip to the village itself.
