The event will see a handful of finalists take part in a barbeque cook-off, with dishes to be judged by chef Neil Rankin of The Smokehouse Islington, who launched the competition at the start of June.
Richard Coates, executive chef at Bodean’s and representatives from the Budweiser team will also play a role in the decision-making process.
Attendees will be able to watch all of the action as it unfolds, as well as snack on foods including burgers, nachos, ribs and pulled pork courtesy of Bodean’s. Budweiser beer will be available throughout the day.
DJ Dom Chung, who has his own Ministry of Sound 'International' radio show, will deliver the entertainment.
Budweiser devised the competition in response to new research that revealed that 56% of Brits perceive Australians to be the best with a barbeque. The competition seeks to showcase the nation's barbeque talent and encourage people to embrace the cooking method during summer.
Agency 3 Monkeys Communications devised the event and is handling all PR.
Rankin said: "We wanted to create a really special evening to crown our Budweiser King of BBQs, and that’s exactly what this is going to be.
"I can’t think of a better combination than enjoying some BBQ, beer, and great music with friends on a summer’s night – and that’s what this event is all about."
On the competition's launch day (1 June) Isabelle Maratier, senior brand manager at Budweiser, said: "Our research shows that although Britons aren’t seen as number one when it comes to their BBQ prowess, they still feel passionately about their BBQ skills.
"Budweiser has always had a strong link with BBQ, with many young people citing us as a brand they associate with BBQ in research. Because of Budweiser’s strong BBQ heritage, we wanted to create the Budweiser King of BBQs competition to reveal the UK’s unsung star of the grill – someone who can inspire everyone in Britain to take their BBQing to the next level and show the nation what it takes to create the ultimate BBQ."
