Carmichael, who joins from Historic Royal Palaces where she worked as an events executive at Kensington Palace, has been enlisted to develop new business, serve as venue liaison and manage events for the company.

The hire comes as the company told Event it reported its best financial performance to date since it launched four years ago. Tom Lloyd Owen, director at Event Oracle, said: "In our first three years we were learning the ropes and taking on every contract, but we realised we needed to be streamlining our business and not accepting every job. We are still a young company, but we have a positive balance sheet."

He added that during Event Oracle's first three years of business, private sector contracts contributed to 80% of the company’s annual turnover. "Corporate clients have increased over time, and they now account from 40% of business, but our aim in the next 12 months is for it to be 60% of our annual turnover," Lloyd Owen explained.

Lloyd Owen said he would like Event Oracle to be working more with brand experience agencies on future work, after the caterer worked on an activation in 2014 with Weight Watchers in the form of a pop-up restaurant in east London.

"We are looking to work with a number of health food brands in 2015 as part of our move into experiential marketing, including a week-long pop-up in Easter," Lloyd Owen added.

Event Oracle will also look to increase its headcount in the next year, which currently stands at seven full-time members of staff, with new additions to the kitchen team.
