Event and C&IT join other industry titles for press grilling at ISES Talks

Last night (22 Feb) at Skinners Hall members of industry association ISES got to ask representatives of the event industry press and ITV how to get their stories in the media.

Event magazine joined forces with sister title C&IT and rival publications Stand Out and M&IT, and an ITV representative to form a panel that was chaired by Plaster managing director Graham Brown at last night's ISES Talks session.

The panel were asked a number of questions from the chair and the audience on what makes a news story; how the industry can get its work featured in the aforementioned publications; the role social media plays in journalism and whether or not copy approval is granted.

Audience members were keen to share their positive and negative experiences with the panel, while the panel themselves went through a checklist of the essential tools that are needed to create a potential story or feature for both online and print publications.

After this session guests got to sample the culinary delights of caterer Party Ingredients and network with the aid of a few glasses of champagne.
