Mike Rowley, classified director, will now also oversee digital classifieds following his development last October of the RecruitLondon job package, which allows advertisers to buy the Evening Standard, Metro London and online at one price through one point of contact.
In his new role, he will expand the cross-selling advertising package to include jobs, property, travel, motors, business-to-consumer, and consumer-to-consumer.
He will also manage advertising on educateLondon.co.uk, the paper's new education website that offers a course listing guide.
Further digital developments for the newspaper in the coming months include a review of its arts and entertainment offering with a view to integrating the offline and online brands.
The planned websites are being developed in conjunction with the group's digital business, Associated New Media.
Bert Hardy, managing director of the Evening Standard, said: "Mike's expanded role reflects the fact that we are adapting to a market where the way media is bought and consumed is constantly evolving."
