LONDON (Brand Republic) – European competition regulators has given the all clear to Unilever’s merger with rival food giant Bestfoods, with the proviso that Unilever sells its Oxo brand.

Unilever joint chairmen Antony Burgmans and Niall FitzGerald said, “We are pleased we have been given the green light by the EU. As anticipated, some parts of the business have to be sold, but the merger with Bestfoods will bring major international brands into our business.”
