Euro RSCG relaunch sees Gosper depart for New York

LONDON - The long-running partnership between Mark Wnek and Brett Gosper, the joint chairmen of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, is coming to an end with news that the agency is restructuring its management and business units.

The restructure, which will see Euro take on a group structure, is expected to see Gosper move to New York to take up a global role working closely with Bob Schmetterer, the chairman and chief executive of Euro RSCG Worldwide.

Wnek will take the role of group chairman while the chief executive, Chris Pinnington, who was part of the 1994 takeover management team, will become the new group chief executive.

The London operation's marketing and advertising units will be relaunched as an integrated group offering. The units, which include the marketing and communications agency KLP Euro RSCG, Euro RSCG Direct, the PR agency Biss Lancaster and the digital division Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper Interaction, have traditionally been run autonomously and will for the first time all report into one management team.

Wnek and Gosper came together in 1994 to run the then-flagging Euro RSCG -- Wnek as the creative director and Gosper as the chief executive -- and are credited with reviving the fortunes of the agency in the 90s.

Separately, Euan Wilcox, a joint director of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper Interaction, is to leave the company to return to Australia.

In April, Abbey National ended its nine-year relationship with Euro after handing its £25m advertising account, including the business for its online banking arm Cahoot, to TBWA\London after a review that took less than a week to complete.
