the aim of adding extra muscle to its strategic output.

Mike Bentley, currently the deputy planning director at Young & Rubicam,

takes up the post of board planning director on Haagen-Dazs, Cadbury and

Microsoft later this month. Joel Levy, the former international planning

director at WCRS, joins Euro RSCG from Clark & Taylor in the new role of

strategy director, working principally on Abbey National and

Citroen.

Neil Dawson, the planning director of Euro RSCG, commented: ’These are

two of the very highest calibre planners in London. They are both

inspirational strategic thinkers and outstanding creative planners.’

Bentley, 34, went into advertising after a career as a professional rock

climber. He joined Generator in 1991 as a graduate trainee on Barclays,

and moved to Butterfield Day Devito Hockney (now Partners BDDH) and then

to WCRS before joining Y&R as a senior planner in1995. He was promoted

to deputy planning director a year later working on accounts such as

Kronenbourg, COI and Sugar Puffs.

Bentley said: ’Euro RSCG has an outstanding client list. The potential

to produce excellent work is almost unlimited. I am very much looking

forward to it.’

Levy started as a graduate trainee at Research International, and

subsequently moved to Dewe Rogerson and then to DMB&B before going to

WCRS in 1995 as a board planner on BMW and First Direct. He was made

international planning director last year.
