EU committee votes for ad labelling of energy-consuming products

LONDON - The Industry committee of the European Parliament has voted by 45 votes to 2 in favour of the amended Energy Labelling Directive.

Ian Twinn, ISBA's director of public affairs, said the result was ‘very disappointing'.

‘ISBA will continue to work with our European colleagues to impress upon MEPs the dangers they will place the European economy in if they continue to play with advertising rules in this way,' he said.

The whole parliament is expected to follow the committee vote at the end of April.
