Today, as it prepares to air live English and Scottish Premier League football in the UK for the first time, ESPN announced that Lowe will be the new co-host.

Mark Chapman, Kelly Cates and Darrell Currie will also join Stubbs and Lowe on the presenting team. Jon Champion and Derek Rae will be ESPN's commentators.

Lowe, formerly a presenter on Setanta, has previously worked on the BBC's Final Score, Football Focus and Match of the Day.

Heading ESPN's Barclays Premier League match commentary as chief commentator, Champion has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience.

Sports presenter, journalist, BBC Radio 5 Live anchor and Radio 1 DJ, Chapman has recently presented Match of the Day, anchoring the BBC's live coverage of Italy v Northern Ireland.

Cates (formerly Kelly Dalglish) has established herself as one of the main faces of Sky Sports News, while Currie's experience includes coverage of The Clydesdale Scottish Bank Premier League, Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and Magners League Live Rugby.

ESPN secured the rights to 46 Barclays Premier League games for the 2009/10 season. The new ESPN channel begins its top flight football coverage on Saturday 15 August at 5.30pm with the game between Everton and Arsenal.
