Airowear, the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of protective equipment for horse riders, is launching a range of handmade garments, which have been developed in close consultation with top rugby professionals and approved by the International Rugby Board.
The new line, which includes head and body wear, is designed to protect players from physical harm during the toughest of contact situations.
Mark Kirkup, marketing director for Northumberland-based Airowear Rugby, said: "Just like riding, rugby is a physically demanding sport at all levels so it is vital to ensure players are as protected from injury as much as possible. With our experience and expertise in designing and manufacturing protective body gear, the odds are that our range of protective products will go down a storm with rugby players and clubs."
The garments are made of Coolmax Lycra, which keeps moisture away from the body, leaving skin dry, cool and comfortable. Airowear rugby shoulder vests and head gear come in a range of off-the-peg sizes, with a made-to-measure service for even the burliest of front-row players.
