Epsom Downs Racecourse will start its grandstand redevelopment programme from 11 September but insists the building work will not affect corporate events.

The first phase will involve demolishing the Rosebery Stand and building a new entrance pavilion. .

The new pavilion will become the main entrance to the racecourse and grandstand area. The first phase is due to be completed by the 2007 Vodafone Derby Festival from 1-2 June 2007 – but because it’s at the far end of the site, it will not affect events in the Queen’s Stand. .

The second phase will involve knocking down the grandstand and building a new one by 2009. .
