E.ON calls time on PowerGen

LONDON - Utilities company E.ON has confirmed that it is dropping the Powergen name from all its residential and business communications.

E.ON has been phasing out the brand by stealth -- in June it launched a TV, press and outdoor campaign, introducing a red logo that is in keeping with E.ON's corporate identity (Marketing, 27 June).

Separately, this week the utilities giant launched an integrated campaign to drive awareness of its green energy product for businesses, 'Business Easy Green'.

Created by TBWA\London and Tequila\London, the activity will feature images of wild animals in business settings.
