England defeat draws peak audience of 8.2m

LONDON - England's 1-0 defeat against Spain in a friendly game last night drew an average of 6.9m or 28.6% of the viewing audience, with a peak viewing audience of 8.2m for the match coverage which was broadcast between 7.30pm and 10pm, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The match was trounced by ITV1, which attracted 10.4m viewers to 'Coronation Street' at 7.30pm, registering a 45% share of the total audience, who tuned into see the Weatherfield-set soap opera.

 

On BBC Two, 'Dragon's Den', the show for budding entrepreneurs at 9pm on BBC Two, attracted a respectable 3.1m viewers, or a 12.3% share.

 

Channel 4's 'Relocation, Relocation', managed to draw 3.1m viewers, or an average share of 12.6% for its 8pm-9pm slot.

 

On Five, reality show 'So You Think You Can Nurse?' at 8pm pulled in 1.1m viewers, or a 4.4% share of audience.
