Enfatico sets out in-house media plans

LONDON - Enfatico, the WPP agency set up to specifically service computer giant Dell, has named Ronnie Job, head of Danish communications group People Group, as EMEA managing director, and confirmed that it will create an in-house media department with help from MediaCom, which currently handles the UK Dell account.

Speaking exclusively to Media Week, Torrence Boone, Enfatico global chief executive, said: "MediaCom is executing against the work and the goal is to fold in MediaCom resources to Enfatico and to build an internal capability."

Boone did not confirm any additional details and would not specify how large the media department would be.

Job, who will oversee Enfatico from London, set up Copenhagen-based communications company People Group in 1999 and brings with him three divisions of the company that will make up the majority of Enfatico's operation in EMEA.

The three divisions now being blended into Enfatico, created in response to Dell's request to merge its 800 global agencies into one unit, include: Ad People, an international media agency that has been working with Dell for nine years, Graphic People, a production hub based in Bangladesh and Software People, an ad-serving platform.

Also joining Enfatico in Europe is Wunderman director of digital strategy Magnus Wood, as planning director, and Y&R director Adrian Odgers as digital director.

The agency has 1,000 staff globally. It is not known how many staff its UK operation will house.

However, Boone did confirm that Dell will not be Enfatico's only client. He said: "We are, at this point, maniacally focused on executing brilliantly for Dell and getting the model up and running, and yielding good results. But we do expect in the next several months to bring in a new client and we will be starting that dialogue very soon.

"We're certainly targeting large global integrated marketing organ-isations of the scale of Dell."
