Emap won two awards for its film title Empire, with editor Mark Dinning picking up the entertainment magazines award and the magazine's website editor James Dyer winning website editor of the year.
NatMags was likewise a double winner, with Harper's Bazaar's Lucy Yeomans selected by the judges as editors' editor of the year, while NatMags editorial director Lindsay Nicholson won the Mark Boxer Award for her outstanding editorial contribution to magazines in the UK.
Nicola Jeal won best newspaper magazine award for Observer Woman, one of two for GMG. The other was for Merope Mills, who took the Fiona Macpherson new editor of the year award for Guardian Weekend.
The editor of Conde Nast's GQ, Dylan Jones, took home two awards for men's magazine editor of the year and for brand building initiative of the year, for GQ's Men of the Year.
Awards also went to Spectator editor Matthew d'Ancona for the current affairs magazine award and to Ben Raworth, the editor of online magazine Monkeymag.co.uk, for innovation of the year.
David Burton, the editor of Haymarket Network's Army title Camouflage won the award for best consumer contract magazine.
Burton was unable to collect the award in person as he was on assignment in India. Haymarket Network group editor Johnny Aldred said: "This award is a great testament to his ambition to make each issue of the magazine better than the one that preceded it."
The awards judging panel was chaired by Celia Duncan, editor of Cosmo Girl!, and included journalist Jane Moore, GMG's director of digital publishing Simon Waldman, Aegis UK & Ireland CEO Nigel Sharrocks and The Independent's media editor Ian Burrell.
