Croxall will report directly to Philip Thomas, group managing director of Emap Automotive. He replaces Rob Munro-Hall, who was appointed managing director of Emap Australia earlier this year.
An Emap employee of 15 years, Croxall joined the company as product manager and has risen through the ranks in roles such as marketing director of Emap Automotive, then known as Emap Nationals, and publisher across Classic Cars and Land Rover Owner.
Emap Consumer Media chief executive Paul Keenan said: "Motorcycling is important to Emap Consumer Media, a vibrant and successful business which includes one of Emap's foundation stones in MCN. Rob inherits a portfolio of titles in robust shape, brimming with editorial and publishing talent, which will be further enhanced under his leadership."
As well as MCN and its website , the bike division also publishes Classic Bike, Bike, Ride and Performance Bikes.
Croxall will be replaced on Max Power by Steve Prentice, who steps up to the role of Max Power publishing director from football magazine Match, where he was publisher and oversaw its recent relaunch.
Keenan said: "Steve's appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his experience and expertise across a number of Emap titles over the past seven years, most recently manifested in the extraordinary reinvention of Match in the notoriously difficult football market."
Prentice has also worked across a broad range of Emap's magazines. He is a former editor of Fore! and Today's Golfer and he has also worked on Ride and Classic Cars.
