Emap has sold a portfolio of business to business magazines and related electronic products to Informa Group for 拢28 million. The deal will result in 100 staff transferring to Informa.
The products, which were housed under Emap鈥檚 Business International division, made total profits of 拢2.8 million in the year to 31 March on revenues of 拢12.5 million.
The titles changing hands include the weeklies International Freighting Weekly and Fishing News, and monthlies Insurance Age and Containerisation International. The package also includes related exhibitions plus Liner Shipping Network, an online subscription news service for the international shipping and freight industries.
Peter Rigby, chairman of Informa Group, said his company would exploit synergies between the Emap titles and Informa鈥檚 existing portfolio. 鈥淭he Liner Shipping Network will accelerate further our progress in providing e-commerce solutions to the maritime, trade and transport markets,鈥 he added.
