Emap has embarked on a major financial review of all its UK operations in the aftermath of a troubled year which saw the sell-off at a significant loss of its US arm and the winding up of its failed Digital operations.
Senior staff across Emap were informed of the plans for the Best of Breed review, known internally as Project BoB, in an memo from Emap group finance director Gary Hughes, which said all finance systems, organization and staffing would be thoroughly reviewed.
Some staff within Emap are concerned that the 12-week process may be the first stage of a cost-cutting programme.
Last year, Emap chief executive Robin Miller restructured the UK business, creating a new umbrella division called Emap Consumer Media incorporating 脡lan, Automotive and Active, while Emap Communications and Emap Advertising sit outside ECM.
