Timmons, who was EMEA marketing manager for Disney, will be responsible for the consumer and affiliate marketing of seven music channels, such as The Box, Smash Hits!, Q, Kiss and Kerrang!
She will also oversee marketing on The Hits, which has become the second most popular digital-only TV channel on the Freeview platform since launching last October.
The marketing of Emap's TV brands was previously handled by Emap Radio, under Mel Whitehead, who recently left to go travelling. Timmons will report to Emap Performance brand director Russell Jones.
Jones said that increased competition in the music TV market, with launches from Sky, necessitated a stronger marketing effort. "Recently we have been busy launching channels, but now we are established, we need a TV marketing specialist like Timmons to help us differentiate the channels in the viewers' minds," said Jones.
