Emap Performance's Mixmag will unveil a major redesign in its
November issue, which goes on sale 18 October, aimed at broadening the
clubbing title's appeal.
The new look, the product of several months' work, is described as
design-led with a more imaginative use of photography under new art
editor Becky Mason.
An expanded news section now takes up most of the first half of the
magazine. Album reviews move to the front and a new DJ-oriented singles
section will appear at the back.
The November issue is dedicated to the top 100 dance tracks of all time,
as voted by Mixmag readers.
Sarah Jacombs, Emap Advertising commercial director for music, said she
hoped the redesign would gener-ate more advertising from record labels
and diffusion fashion brands.
A temporary replacement for Jacombs, who is going on maternity leave,
will be announced next week.
