Emap gets ready for mobile rollouts

Emap has unveiled plans to extend the range of mobile services based on its portfolio of magazines.

The publisher offers mobile applications around brands including FHM, but Jason Trout, director of sales at Emap Advertising, said the publisher is actively looking to expand its mobile presence.

Emap's bigger brands, including Arena, Empire and Grazia, will likely be the first to go mobile, although Trout would not reveal details of the make-up of each service.

Emap's mobile expansion follows similar moves by News International (The Sun and The Times) to ramp up its mobile offerings for consumers through Sun.mobi and Times Mobile.

Jackie Duckworth and Chris Shepperson - who were last week appointed heads of market for Emap's men's magazines - are tasked with leading the push.
