Emap division in overhaul of £5m creative activity

Emap Performance is reviewing the £5m creative advertising business for its portfolio of magazine, radio and television properties.

The decision forms part of a wider initiative to decentralise responsibility for marketing and give control to the product teams responsible for each media property.

The company owns magazines including teen gossip title Sneak, rock magazine Kerrang! and pop title Smash Hits, and radio stations such as Kiss 100, Magic and the regional Big City Radio network. TV properties include music channel The Box and Q TV.

Mother handles advertising for brands including Magic FM and Sneak, while Karmarama handles the Big City Radio network. Non-roster agencies have also been contacted regarding the creative review.

"We have a string of creative agencies and we are now undertaking a supplier review. If the review does go to pitch then the existing agencies will be asked to re-pitch for the business," said an Emap spokeswoman.
