Emap Advertising appoints Serle as head of radio sales

LONDON - Emap Advertising has appointed Adrian Serle as radio sales director, replacing Bruce Daisley, who moved to the post of head of interactive sales last month.

Serle has joined Emap Advertising from Kerrang! 105.2, Emap's West Midlands-based rock music station, where he was managing director.

Previously, Serle worked as commercial director of Hallam FM and Magic before moving to Kerrang! in 2004. Under his leadership, the station's audience grew by 34% and won 24 industry awards.

Serle said: "The radio industry is a really stimulating place to be right now, and with so much opportunity and with so many premier brands, Emap is right in the thick of it. Being in a position to make a difference, and build on what we have is truly exciting."

He began his radio career in GWR in Bristol before joining Radio Works, an independent media agency, as media director.

Serle will report to Karen Stacey, broadcast sales director of Emap advertising.

Stacey said: "I'm delighted that Adrian is taking on this role at Emap Advertising. His expertise speaks for itself. Understanding what clients want from advertising partners and how to re-engage our agency customers with the radio medium will be high on his list of priorities. Adrian has the drive and enthusiasm to ensure Emap Advertising sits at the heart of radio renaissance."
